Alone and without any means to call for help, you must do what you can to survive… I think I usually just die of boredom rather than difficulty surviving. In the aftermath of a mysterious plane crash, you are Stranded Deep in the vast expanse of the Pacific Ocean. It's just grind and sleep and grind and sleep. I always hoped this would be like that but with oceans and boats. The Long Dark is a far more harrowing and fulfilling survival experience. More importantly it gets boring real, real fast. I can keep adding to the list of things that always ruin the game for me but I think I've said enough. You can rotate your sail but it doesn't seem to make any difference where it's pointing. You can't check your vitals while using a boat, or even look around properly. And the dynamics of ocean travel are abysmal. It's less about struggling for survival and more about slowly floating between islands to find a rock or a stick. I'm sure you used to get sun burn in this game but they seem to have taken it out. They seem to have gotten over this by just making the things you find (like tarps and planks etc.) far, far more abundant. The thing you took down just turn into a giant cube and sinks into the ground. You can't recover resources if you build something mistakenly and want to get rid of it.
It's full of glitches and bugs that have been in since day one. Which is good because there's not much to accomplish. The day/night cycle is too short to accomplish anything.
